On Smiter's Boon...
"Exhaustion will be coming soon."

The highlight of that for me...

AP-AE-EVAS? An A/Me can pull it off too, but with less energy and without Fast Casting.

Incidentally, another thing to dispute with Mandragor-In-A-Can builds is whether they actually are best on a Mesmer primary, or whether an Elementalist, Necromancer or even Ranger with a bit of speccing in Illusion or Inspiration can do the job better.

(Hint, best idea off the top pf my head: Make CoP remove one hex from its target. That imposes a minimal burden on the single memser (have to bring 2 proc hexes instead of one), but makes a coordinated team spike nearly impossible.)
Interesting idea. Basically making it an improved Shatter Delusions?

Urgoz and the deep are after-factions missions, to whomever mentioned wanting something after the factions storyline.

The fact that anyone is working on GW1 at all brings new hope to what would appear to be a dead, forgotten, rotting corpse. I'm really glad to hear that.

Maybe Smiter's Boon should take AWAY healing and give more damage...

With that in mind, the following quote:

...needs to be placed within the contextual knowledge that there are two people working on GW1, and a handful of others who work on GW1 part time. What I am saying is that players should not expect massive amounts of content on the same scale that a team of half a dozen are able to produce. The impression that I'm getting from the responses in this thread is that you're all expecting and hopeful of a level of production that cannot humanly be achieved by two people.
Well I guess the truth is better than false hope. It is disappointing to find out, since for a lot of older players (as far as my scope reaches) like myself are getting to the point where the need for something new is getting rather urgent.
We still don't know when to expect GW2 and with the idea of new content being largely shot down, it will be tough to stay motivated to play GW.
Just wondering if you guys at Anet see that games like Aion could potentially take a fair share of players away when people get tired of waiting?

That is why we expect it to be HUGE! Because Anet programmers aren't human! Clearly we know that GW2 is priorty right now but I do hope that GW1 won't just be cast off to the way side and forgotten. I don't know if I will make the jump as soon as it comes out due to currently unforeseen events that might happen in my future!

It is nice to hear there will be more quests and mission although more addons would be nice.I could still see chapter syetem evey year not every 6 months that is another topic altogether.I have invested so much time into my GW chars I don't want to give up on them and move right over to GW2.

But Fast Casting brings something to the table, and Critical Strikes doesn't. Mesmer is better here.

It has to be Me/E or E/Me. Mesmer for the spreading and Ele for the blind. Mandragor-In-A-Can isn't worth doing if it doesn't do 100%-uptime AoE blind. As for Me/E vs E/Me, I've haven't made up my mind. I do find Fact Cast useful because you really need to execute your chain before your target dies. More useful than a whole bunch of extra energy? I'm not sure. Also, I'm starting to think that the new Extend Conditions supports stronger builds than Fevered Dreams; and the ranks above 12 matter for Extend Conditions, especially if you want to try to stretch out the daze from technobabble longer than its recharge (doable FYI).

Thank you. Yes, basically. It would lose coordinated spiking power, but gain the ability to combo with things that shatter combo's with. Roughly an even trade; Ends cryway; Not too bad for single mesmers outside of the cryway context.

So let me guess that quests will be for receive torment weapons because DoA its empty now ....

about Ursan nerf i only say that its not in forums you should look for awnsers but in game ... dont tell me the thousands of Ursans that were playing DoA are happy with that ... would be fairly easy for Anet create a poll in game about some content of game so you could see what comunitie thinks

2 guys working in gw1 ?? If Anet thinks that had a crap Dervish hero and 2 quests will be enough for keep us playing till GW2 come out problably in end of 2009 i think they will have a big surprise.

Unless Anet is intentionally trying to remove popular builds from the game in an effort to get players so frustrated that they quit playing (thus freeing up servers), I see no point in any changes to cryway.

There are a lot of PvE skills that seem to be grossly overpowered not the least of which are [save yourselves] and [shadow form], nerfing cryway will only add to the confusion felt by the community after the last major update.

Leave Cryway alone anet.

I'm way past that point, actually. I drifted back to WoW for a few months and then, eventually, to LOTRO, where I have been having a great time traipsing about Middle Earth. I still think GW1 is just about the best game I have *ever* played (and I have played quite a few). I so enjoyed GW1's AI group/player party group mix-and-match option, which virtually no other online game seems to offer... Sigh.

I had hoped, ever so briefly, based on the OP in this thread, that GW1 was going to get some more love from ArenaNet, but now I see that this is really not the case. We really are in "just basic maintenance" mode.

I wonder if ArenaNet has any concerns about players leaving GW1 during this -- what shall we call it? ... "lull period"? -- and then not coming back when GW2 finally hits the shelves?

Well, anyways - good thing to hear that GW1 will still be updated. Only thing which distrub me, is further PvP\PvE diversion. IMHO, it's make things slightly worse with almost each update...

Your welcome for the summary, though some of it was cloudy. I only listened to it once and wrote things down as I heard it. I was also doing other things too, mind you. I guess my wording on the developer team was wrong, I knew that it was a handful of people occasionally swapping to help with GW1, but I didn't overlook my wording. Glad to see you posting here Regina.

I'm just wondering if Smiter's Boon could be changed into a more...useful, yet balanced skill just so we don't have to overlook it every time we make a build. I mean, for example, that hideous shirt your friend buys you that you've never wore, not once in your life, why would you bother keeping it? Every time you sort through your clothes, it dreads upon you like laundry that needs to be dried out or they start to smell sour. So, fix the skill to something else! Put a top hat on Smiter's Boon and call it a new skill.

Yeah I tried Lotro and even WoW but couldn't get into those games...perhaps I am spoiled with the GW graphics. But your question at the end is exactly mine. I do wonder if they worry about that at all because it is already happening. Somehow it seems like a real irony if Anet got screwed by a game made by NcSoft. I just think that people tend to have only enough time to put into one MMO in general and I somehow feel that with the way things are going GW2 is going to need to be what GW1 was intended to be...a casual game.
A lot of players have asked for more and GW2 should be the answer to that but then along comes a game like Aion, and there may be more. What if those games end up also being what people wanted and move there since Anet have completely lost their momentum? That to me is what seems to be the situation. I want more and better and I do not want to wait another year for it.

The problem is Anet are not releasing ANY info on GW2 at all.... so nothing to keep people interested either.... give us some teaser trailers, some graphics, some concept work..... you know you want to !!

I am seeing less and less people on my friends list online, less people in districts and I think more and more are fleeing as they have done it all and nothing at all to keep interested.....

Titles go only so far..... but with no idea what any title will unlock even that motivation can lull for a player....

Anet.... PLEASE give us something on GW2 and some new stuff for GW1 to keep us going....

of course they are, first they nerf ursan then people start playing cry way, then they nerf cry of pain, then peple spam searing flames, then they nerf sf and everything the same way they did in the past and they will never understand why nerfing the shit out of everything doesn't work
